Many resorts throughout Colorado wrap up their winter seasons with pond-skimming championships and events. If you’re a gifted skier or snowboarder sign up, don your best costume and practice your best moves to partake.

Not up for participating? Being a spectator is arguably more entertaining. Here are a few events taking place in Colorado this spring.

The Landshark Pond Skim in Crested Butte will take place on April 6 at 3 pm. Don your best silly costume and celebrate the end of an epic ski season on the mountain.

Purgatory Resort and Ska Brewing will kick off an end-of-season party on April 7 from 1:30 pm to 4 pm which will include - you guessed it - pond skimming. Prizes are awarded to best skim, best wipeout and best costumes. There will also be a DJ on site to get the party going.

Steamboat’s Splashdown Pond Skimming Championships will take place on April 14. Register on site before the event!

Over in Breckenridge, the Breck Plunge will take place April 21 as a kick off to their spring ski season. Head to the base of Peak 8 with live music, food, drinks and plenty of fun.
